United Nations in Zimbabwe joined the national commemorations of International Women’s Day. The commemoration which took place under the theme “Celebrating Women’s Gains through Constitutional Provisions”, aims to promote women’s participation in political, social and economic spheres in Zimbabwe.
United Nations Launches New Gender Equality Programme

In a milestone for the United Nations in Zimbabwe, the UN Women, ILO, UNDP, and UNFPA launched the country’s first joint programme to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. Initiated with the support of the Government of Sweden, the programme will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development.
