The most effective ways to curb climate change might surprise you

Project Drawdown ranks solutions that are proposed to reverse climate change by 2050. The top ranking solution that is likey to create significant impact is phasing out of CFCs and HFCs.

CFCs and HFCs are chemicals used in refriegerators and air-conditioners to absorb heat and create the cooling effect.

UNDP Zimbabwe is working with the biggest domestic refrigeration producer, CAPRI, to change its production setup shifting from the use of these chemicals to the a better refrigerant, Isobutane, which has a negligible ozone depleting effect and low global warming potential. 

While steps are being taken to curb our contribution to climate change at a large scale, citizens also need to urgently take more steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
