This report "Poverty and Poverty Datum Line Analysis in Zimbabwe 2011/2012" is based on the data derived from the PICES 2011/12 survey results. It covers the prevalence of poverty and other analytical issues.



  • The biggest contributor to GDP in 2001 was manufacturing with 20.2%, agriculture with 17.9%, then transport and communication with 15.8%
  • About 79% of househoolds in urban areas have access to piped water, while 5.5% of rural households do
  • 83.1% of urban poor households have access to electricity
  • 76% of rural households were poor compared to 38.2% in urban areas
